Promotoed by: Regional Government of Castilla y León, Consejería de Fomento y Medio Ambiente. Year: 2017

The aim of this project was to facilitate technical assistance for the first revision of Forest Management Plan in “CABEZA GORDA”, and “DEHESA BOYAL” Public Forest Lands (MUP nº20 and nº21, respectively), which are owned by Fuenteguinaldo City Council (Salamanca, Central Spain), with a total area of 1,419.57 ha.

In this project several actions were proposed aiming to mantain and improve the natural values of the land to protect the forests for the next 10 years.

The stands included in this study are located in the area of Sierra de Gata, being part of “El Rebollar” Natural Space, the widest Quercus pyrenaica forest in Castilla y León. This location has unique natural characteristics, and enriches the prevailing landscape in the Cordillera Central, being the most oceanic sector in Central Mountain Range from the point of view of the vegetation, fauna and geomorphology.
